About Us

Formed in 2020 during the height of the pandemic, Annie’s Assisted Living (ALF) was established by Latonia Boykins to honor the memory of her beloved grandmother, Annie. Despite the challenging times, Annie’s ALF opened its doors with a mission to provide exceptional care and support for its residents. Today, we proudly operate five branches, all located in the heart of Tampa, Florida.

Our facilities are beautiful, well-maintained, and designed to provide a home-like environment where your loved ones can feel comfortable and cherished. At Annie’s ALF, caregiving and cleanliness are our top priorities. We ensure that every resident receives the highest quality of care in a loving and nurturing setting.

To support the well-being of our residents, we offer comprehensive in-house services, including doctors, pharmacy services, and lab technicians. We also collaborate with external agencies to provide physical and occupational therapy, ensuring a holistic approach to health and wellness.

At Annie’s Assisted Living, we are committed to creating a safe, caring, and supportive environment where your loved ones can thrive. Our dedication to excellence in caregiving is reflected in every aspect of our facilities, making us one of the top choices for assisted living in the Tampa Bay area

Latonia Boykins,

CEO & Founder

Latonia Boykins was raised in St. Petersburg, Florida, and now resides in Tampa, where she runs two growing businesses: Annie’s Assisted Living Facility and Top 2 Bottom Builders. In addition to her demanding work schedule, she is a devoted wife, a mother to two beautiful daughters, and a full-time caregiver to her brother with special needs.

With a background in banking, caregiving has always been closest to Latonia’s heart. She has cared for her special needs brother for over 15 years and supported her sister, who has been on dialysis for 24 years. Raised by her grandmother after her mother passed away when she was 16, Latonia witnessed firsthand the challenges of caregiving. Her grandmother took in Latonia and her four siblings, providing a loving home despite the hardships.

When Latonia’s grandmother became ill, Latonia saw her aunts and uncle struggle to care for her without seeking external help, even as their own health declined. This experience inspired Latonia to honor her grandmother’s legacy by ensuring that others would know her name and the sacrifices she made.

In 2020, during the height of the pandemic, Latonia founded Annie’s Assisted Living, named in loving memory of her grandmother. Her flagship facility, located in the heart of Tampa, Florida, remains under her ownership, and her very first resident is still part of Annie’s family. Annie’s Assisted Living is a local, Black woman-owned and operated business, driven by Latonia’s commitment to excellence in caregiving.

For Latonia, providing top-of-the-line care for the residents is paramount. She ensures that everyone working at Annie’s shares her dedication to nurturing care and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness. Her facilities are among the finest in the Tampa Bay area, reflecting her unwavering commitment to creating a nurturing environment for all residents.
